- The Shannon Weaver model of communication is the mother of all models of human communication. It is also known as the information theory.
- It is a mathematical theory considered to be a 'linear' communication model.
- Created be Claude Shannon and Warren Weaver, it is considered to be a highly effective communication model that explained the whole communication process from information source to information receiver.
The Shannon and Weaver Model of Communication is a 6 keys
- Sender
- Encoder
- Channel
- Noise
- Decoder
- Receiver
Wilbur lang Schramm also known as Father of communication.
David Berlo Model (1960):-
- In 1960, David Berlo postulated Berlo’s Sender-Message-Channel-Receiver (SMCR) model of communication from Shannon Weaver’s Model of Communication (1949).
- He described factors affecting the individual components in the communication making the communication more efficient.
- The model also focuses on encoding and decoding which happens before sender sends the message and before receiver receives the message respectively.
- Berlo’s Model has mainly, four components to describe the communication process.
- They are sender, message, channel and receiver.
Frank Dance Helical model (1967):-
Frank Dance included the Concept of time in his theory of Communication was Subject to a number of experimental researches according to his theory,a communication process is the product of what we learnt.
